Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 June 2026 · Effective date: pending

BingeBop is built privacy-first. The short version: what you watch and the sources you configure stay on your device and your home network — we don't collect them. We only handle the minimum data needed to run accounts, licensing, and billing. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

1. Who we are

BingeBop ("we", "us") is the provider of the BingeBop media-player software and related account, licensing, and billing services. For privacy questions, contact [email protected]. Our full legal entity name and registered address, and our data-protection contact, will be published here before launch.

2. What we collect

3. What we deliberately don't collect

We do not collect or transmit to our servers: your playlists, channel lists, or stream URLs; what you watch, when, or for how long; your viewing history; or the content itself. This information stays on your device and within your local network. Multi-device household sync, where enabled, happens directly between your own devices on your network — not via our servers.

4. How & why we use it

5. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (running your account, licence, and subscription); legitimate interests (security, abuse-prevention, and improving the service, balanced against your rights); legal obligation (accounting/tax); and consent where specifically requested (you can withdraw it at any time).

6. Who we share with

We share data only with service providers who help us run BingeBop, under appropriate contracts, including: a payment processor (to take payment); email/infrastructure and hosting providers (to send sign-in links and run our servers); and authorities where legally required. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising or third-party tracking.

7. Retention

We keep account and licensing data for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterwards as needed for legal, tax, and abuse-prevention purposes. Sign-in links expire within minutes; sessions expire or are revoked on logout. Logs are kept for a short rolling window. Exact retention periods will be specified before launch.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You can exercise these rights — including deleting your account and associated data — by contacting [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

9. Cookies

Our account dashboard uses a single, strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in, plus a short-lived cookie used to protect the sign-in flow. We do not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies. The marketing website does not require cookies to browse.

10. Security & international transfers

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, hashed credentials and device identifiers, and least-privilege access — to protect your data. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to keep what little we hold safe. Where data is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards as required by law.

11. Children

BingeBop accounts are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Contact

Privacy questions or requests: [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
